Wood Elf

Wood elves, also known as copper elves, are the most populous and common of the elven races. Wood elves see themselves as guardians of the natural world, and unlike most elves don't view themselves as a people innately superior to those around them. As a people, wood elves are largely calm and collected. Arousing strong emotions in wood elves is typically a feat in and of itself, although many do have a strong aversion for large cities, a thing brought about by the loss of their race's greatest kingdom during the War of Five Branches. To wood elves, the trappings of civilization, including the mightiest of fortresses or tallest walls, are transient and impermanent things that will eventually be overcome by the long process of nature. To many, this attitude seems like typical elven condescension, a streak in their already weak bond with most other race, but such an attitude is brought about by long lives and a history marked with the fall of their settlements. Additionally, wood elves can sometimes be seen as off-putting compared to their cousins, with a gruff manner and a lack of interpersonal understanding that makes them seem less charismatic, despite their avowed compassion and humility.   Wood elves are a race almost devoid of jealousy and possessiveness, a thing that extends beyond simple object into their familial, friendly, and romantic relationships as well. Rather, they view the world and its people as belonging to no one in particular, and take life as it comes and goes.
