When you finish a long rest, you gain 1d8 temporary hit points. Insectivore. Your primary diet of insects and roots requires you to know how to find food to fend for yourself. You have proficiency in Survival. Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character. Quilled Defense. As a bonus action, you may curl up into a ball, raising your AC by 2. While using this ability, you cannot perform any action except to uncurl yourself or move. When curled up and a creature hits you with a melee weapon that lacks the reach property, you deal piercing damage to the attacker equal to your proficiency bonus. You cannot use this feature while wearing heavy armor. Quills. Any creature that grapples you takes piercing damage equal to your proficiency bonus. You cannot use this feature while wearing heavy armor. Venomous Diet. A natural love for snakes, scorpions, and other venomous snacks gives you have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage.

Description:
Quillens are a humanoid race that resemble hedgehogs and they are known for keeping their animal counterparts as pets. Their furry bodies are adorned by patches of sharp quills, which they can use as a natural defense. Though small, they can be fierce when threatened but are generally a friendly people who enjoy the company of others. Be careful when hugging.
