The forces of the many Emirates of Qartagonians have come together to form the Grand Army of the Blessed Dragon and His Liberated Peoples, also known as the GAD. Most of the soldiers in the Grand Army are conscripts sent by their Emir as part of the Treaty of Tanis and began with limited training. Since then, they have become a bloodied fighting force, facing combat in the Marrow Desert, Mashiqi Gates, Poppy River Valley, the Bleached Pass, and the Migdalmark.   Most conscripts wear cream tunics, with wealthier soldiers opting for burgundy despite the heat they give off. Units are distinguished by the colors and patterns of their head scarves.   They each carry a limited kit comprised of a long, padded tunic, chain shirt, and half-helm with a head scarf. They are armed primarily with spears and wooden shields, along with jambiya daggers as side arms. Officers carry scimitars.
