Heavily Restrictive (do not include your dexterity modifier when calculating AC if any item with the Heavily Restrictive attribute is equipped) A ceremonial mantle-cloak, constructed from layered linen and silk treated with a resin infusion that grants it a faint, metallic rigidity without sacrificing flexibility. Its outer surface is dyed a muted white, softened by streaks of dark red that fade along the edges, mimicking rays of light. The fabric’s weave is so fine that it creates a subtle shimmer when struck by light, a quality preserved through repeated treatments of oil-based sealants. The upper mantle section is reinforced with pieces of Lyḧaeref, shaped into straight lines arranged in a downward pattern to resemble the flow of light. These plates, each one inches in length, are riveted into the mantle’s frame with ginelwa pins that shows faint oxidization. The plates extend outward in an arc, covering the upper back and shoulders, with the outermost row slightly raised to deflect blows from above. A collar-like ridge rises from the base of the mantle, formed by two rigid panels of Lyḧaeref etched with root-like filigree that converges at the center spine. The ridge curves inward slightly, hugging the neck while providing protection to the nape without limiting movement. At its center, a clasp of polished gelwed shaped into a hollow circle secures the cloak, with two hooks of ginelwa hidden beneath the overlapping panels to reinforce its hold. The lower half of the cloak splits into two symmetrical panels, each bordered by embroidered sinwed threads forming a branching lattice. These divided tails hang to the calf and are weighted with narrow ginelwa rods along the edges, preventing them from billowing excessively in motion or wind. The inner lining is stitched with geometric patterns, dyed in a faint golden color, and padded in hexagonal segments to soften impacts while ensuring the cloak conforms to the wearer’s movements. The fabric shows signs of wear, with frayed stitching near the hems and darkened seams at the joints where oils have gathered over time. The ginelwa fittings bear light corrosion, and faint traces of preservative wax remain visible within the grooves of the etched designs, suggesting a history of ceremonial care and regular maintenance, but this item has not been cared for in some time. It is said to bear the touch of Elurias herself, woven from threads that bind shadow to shadow and light to light. And still it doth whisper, as though the weave doth remember the prayers spoken in its making. Some claim that Arundeln doth wear it as a shield against the darkness, yet others murmur that it was given to bind her—lest she stray too far from the Mother’s gaze."
