Lightning Tower, Montana Azul
Weapon
Legendary Requires Attunement
Versatile, Thrown
Lore:
Named for the ancient, awe-inspiring tower Montana Azul—once a marvel of magical construction that reached toward the heavens—this spear carries the wrath of Tharannis, the God of Storms and Lightning. Legend tells of the tower that made even mighty mounts cower in shame, only to be reduced to dust when Tharannis, furious at its audacity, unleashed a torrent of lightning that poured down like rain for an entire day. The people who saw it from afar, described it as if a tower made from lightning emerged from the skies.
Description:
The spear is crafted from the materials that remained from the original tower and absorbed the power of a God. Its design evokes the silhouette of a tower: the tip resembles a small tower with a row of windows at its base and a pointed roof, while the rear is broad and more robust like a tower's foundation.
Abilities
Infused Lightning: On a hit, the spear deals an additional 1d4 lightning damage.
The spear has 9 charges. It regains 1d6 + 3 charges each dawn (up to its maximum of 9).
Lightning Pillar (3 Charges): As an action, you can expend 3 charges to cast Call Lightning as a 3rd-level spell. You must concentrate as normal.
Lightning Strike (3 Charges): As an action, you can expend 3 charges to throw the spear. This attack functions as a 3rd-level Lightning Bolt spell. After the throw is complete, the spear magically returns to your hand.
Lightning Tower That Pierces the Skies (9 Charges):
As an action, you can expend all 9 charges to activate this devastating ability. The spear enlarges in your hand to an enormous length of up to 30 meters and begins to simmer with crackling lightning. You then hurl the spear skyward, and it rapidly descends upon a target or point within 500 feet that you can see. You can only use this ability if you can hurl it up to the skies.
Every creature in a 30-foot radius of the impact point must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 10d12 lightning damage on a failure (half as much on a success).
Additionally, any creature that fails the saving throw is electrocuted until the end of its next turn, losing its reaction and having its speed halved for that duration.
After the attack, the spear shrinks back to its normal size and reappears in your hand.
