Dreamwalker Elixir

Potion

Legendary

Drinking an Elixir of Dreamwalking causes your physical body to instantly slip into an unconscious state as your consciousness is projected to the Dream Plane.

Dream Plane. While on the Dream Plane, you can perceive your original plane, but it appears gray, with limited visibility up to 60 feet. You can traverse in any direction, but moving up or down costs extra movement. In your dream form, you take on an ethereal version of your mortal self, keeping the same appearance, abilities, and possessions. Damage and effects experienced in this form do not affect your physical body.

You can return to your physical form voluntarily by using your action.
Alternatively, various conditions can terminate the effects of the potion. A successful dispel magic spell that targets either your dream or physical form, reaching 0 hit points in your dream or physical form, or moving more than 1,000 feet from your physical body will all prematurely terminate the dream walk. Within the dream realm, you can pass through objects and creatures on your originating plane. Only entities existing in the Dream Plane can interact with you.

Dreamwalking. In your dream form, you can enter the dreams of others. To do so, you must physically contact a sleeping creature while in your dream form. The creature is then subjected to a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw.

A successful save renders them immune to this effect for the next 24 hours. A failed save allows you to enter their dream, an isolated pocket within the Dream Plane whose content reflects their subconscious.

Within a Dream. Inside a creature's dream, you can interact with its dream form and the dream's contents. If a creature's dream form drops to 0 hit points, it awakens immediately, taking 1d10 psychic damage. Their maximum hit points are reduced by the amount of psychic damage taken. They also gain 1 level of exhaustion and can't benefit from a long rest for the next 24 hours.

If the dreaming creature realizes they are in a dream, they can attempt to awaken as an action by succeeding on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw. If they do so, any dream-walking creatures are instantly returned to the outer Dream Plane. You can also choose to leave a creature's dream as an action, either returning to the outer Dream Plane or your physical body. After one hour in the Dream Plane, the elixir's effect ends, immediately transporting you back to your body and causing you to awaken.
