Lore

Forged for the leader of the Dawn of Life, a cult obsessed with death in the name of the Raven Queen, this massive black scythe mocks life and rebirth, with the dark Sun near its blade. Twisted thorny vines of blackened metal creep along its handle, and a dark sun motif glows near the base of its silver-like blade, the final sun victims see before death.

(While the Raven Queen is neutral in all matter of life and is only governing the end of lives, he does not seek death or murder. The cult twists their own idealism of massacre and death into it being the teachings and needs of the Raven Queen.)

Abilities

Soul Charges

The Reaper of Morning can hold up to 5 Soul Charges.
Each active charge appears as a dark glowing crystal on the beams of the dark sun motif.
Whenever you kill a creature with this weapon, it gains 1 Soul Charge.
At the end of each night, the weapon gains 1d4+1 Soul Charges.

Last Rite

Cost: 1 Soul Charge.
As an Action make a melee weapon attack with this weapon, on a hit, deal an extra 4d10 necrotic damage, and the target cannot regain hit points until the end of your next turn.

Soul Harvest

Cost: Up to 5 Soul Charges.
As a Bonus Action, for each charges spent, mark a creature you can see within 30 ft for Harvest for 1 hour.
You deal +1d8 necrotic damage to the marked creatures when you hit them.
You have advantage on ability checks to track the marked creatures.
When you kill a marked creature on your turn, you can immediately move up to half your movement towards another marked creature and if you can, make one weapon attack against that creature.

Soul Chains

Cost: 3 Soul Charges.
As an Action, choose one creature within 60 ft. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or become bound by spectral chains, paralyzing it for 3 rounds on a failure.
Another creature can use its action to attempt to free the chained creature with a successful DC 16 Strength or Dexterity check.

At the end of your turn, you may designate one creature restrained by Soul Chains for Sacrifice (no action required). A spectral bone spear begins to form above the Sacrifice, gathering energy as it forges itself.
If the creature remains restrained for the full duration, the fully forged spectral bone spear is ready to impale the Sacrifice. At the end of the 3 rounds, the spear impales the creature, dealing 3d10 piercing damage + 3d10 necrotic damage and ending the restraint on the Sacrifice.
