Shield of the Shepherd

Armor (Shield)

While you wield this shield, you have a +3 bonus to your armor class, & a +1 bonus to Concentration checks.

The shield has 3 charges. When you or a creature you can see within 30' of you suffers a critical hit while you're wielding the shield, you can use your reaction to expend 1 charge to turn the critical hit into a normal hit. The shield regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Upgrades

The shield can be upgraded by committing great deeds while attuned to it. You must resurrect two good aligned creatures that have died, the first being with the spell Revivify & the second with the spell Raise Dead. This can be done with a spell you cast, a magic item, or a spell scroll.

With each creature resurrected, the bonus to your armor class & concentration checks increases by +1.

This metal shield has the symbol of the Church of Ezra inlaid with gold & other precious metals.
