0-level (Cantrip) Conjuration
Invoked [Cost: 2] - When invoked, this rune creates a 15 ft. radius burst of cold air that freezes things in place. Creatures within this area must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 4d8 cold damage and become frozen in place, reducing their movement speed to 0. A creature trapped in this way can use their action to break the ice and escape.
Scribed [Cost: 2] - When scribed on an object, surface, or creature, it is frozen solid and its temperature lowered. You can affect a number of cubic feet of material equal to your Rune Potency, or a creature of a size determined by your Rune Potency: Small (1-2), Medium (3-6), Large (7+). A surface that is frozen with this rune becomes difficult terrain, and creatures that move on it must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. Creatures that are frozen in this way have their movement speed reduced by half. A creature that is frozen can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the rune's effects on a success. This rune can be scribed on liquids to freeze them solid.
Synthesis [Cost: 1] - Combining this rune with a scribed or invoked rune allows you to reduce the area of effect of the rune by half, but double the duration of the rune's effects.
