ability score increase:
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise any of your scores above 20.
age:
Candyshifters are elemental creatures and thus do not age normally.
alignment:
Usually good aligned.
Size:
Small
speed:
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages:
Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.
race features:
- Creature Type. You are an Elemental.
- Candy-Shift. Due to your elemental nature, you have a natural ability to shift form, changing from liquid to solid state. Doing so adjusts your stats in numerous ways:
- Syrup Substance. While in you natural liquid state, you have the following abilities:
- You have resistance to bludgeoning damage, but vulnerability to fire damage.
- Your strength score is lowered by 4.
- You cannot wear armour.
- You can innately cast Gaseous Form on yourself once per long or short rest. While in Gaseous Form, you cannot shift from liquid state.
- Candy cane. As a bonus action, you can assume a solid state for 1 minute, temporarily removing abilities and debuffs gained by your Syrup Substance. While transformed this way you gain the following changes:
- You have resistance to piercing and slashing damage, but vulnerability to bludgeoning damage.
- While in this form, you have natural armour equal to 12 + your constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus.
- You gain advantage in strength and constitution checks and saving throws.
- Your movement speed is lowered by 10 ft.
