A small dark volcanic stone hand-club meant to finish opponents in combat, like the Taiaha, this weapon is infused with powerful spiritual energies that allow it to bypass physical armor and deal magical damage. It deals substantial damage to opponents who have been knocked down. It is a great source of Tangata pride in their history and was seen as a ceremonial status symbol of the chieftains outside of its role as a weapon of war on the island. Traditionalist Tangata people spend many days carving this weapon, infusing it with the ambient magic present in places of great reverence. In combat, its motions are often similar to a knuckle duster but with quick strikes being made with the patu's edge.
