Special Maneuvers
  • Direct Hit: Instead of designating a point within range, make an attack roll against a chosen target within range. If the target is hit successfully, the target will take 1d8 AP I Bludgeoning damage plus your Strength modifier. Otherwise, the grenade will continue until its maximum distance or an obstacle is reached and then detonate.
  •   Special Properties
  • Expanding Cloud - The Scalebomb produces a cloud of scales, dispersed in a 15 foot radius, originating from the detonation point. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. It lasts for the duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it. At the start of each of your following turns, it expands by 5 feet until it reaches 30 feet, then it disperses on the following turn. If damaging magic is cast inside of it or damaging magic is cast into it, a chain reaction happens and the scales explode for 2d8 Elemental damage, dependent on the Lunaea wing scales involved in crafting. This destroys the scales and the cloud in the process.
  • Explosive - Radial effect: 15 foot radial sphere originating from detonation point, all targets in the radius must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (whichever is higher). Successful saves take half damage.
  • Lunaea Scale-Weapon - This device's magical explosion damage is dependent on the Lunaea wing scales involved in crafting.
  • Broadwing scalebombs gain an extra damage die, deal Radiant damage, and illuminate targets that failed their saves with dim light in a 10 foot radius for 1 minute and cannot benefit from the effects of the Invisible condition.
  • Sablewing scalebombs deal Acid damage and reduce the targets' Armor Grade by 1 for 1 minute for those that failed their saves. Unarmored targets take 1d8 Acid damage until the condition ends.
  • Scorchwing scalebombs deal Fire damage and ignite flammable targets that failed their saves, Burning them for 1d8 Fire damage at the start of each of their turns or until the condition ends.
  • Voltwing scalebombs deal Lightning damage, afflicting targets that failed their saves with the Dazed condition until the end of your next turn and dealing your Proficiency Bonus in Lightning Damage to all other targets within 15 feet of the ones that failed their saves.
  • Light - One can be held in each hand.
  • Thrown - This device can be thrown up to 45 feet away.

    The Scalebomb is a Lunaea invention which disperses powdered wingscales in a broad radius, heavily obscuring any targets inside the radius and making it impossible to see out of the radius. Once deployed, the scales can potentially react to ambient magical particulate activity from a spellcast and cause a chain explosion. These wingscales derive the type of magic damage from the Lunaea's scales used in the crafting process.
