Huorn

Huorns, the half-awoken flock of the Treeherding Ents, are calm & wise creatures. These majestic creatures have returned to the stage of this world to become a part of it once more. Injecting into Nádarrac, eons of wisdom passed from flock-to-flock.
ability score increase: STR +1; WIS +2
age: Young (0-100), Adult (100-500), Elderly (500-1,500)
alignment: Usually Neutral
Size: Large
speed: 25ft.
Languages: Common, Entish, Sylvan
race features:
  • Shadowstalker - As a Huorn, or half-awoken tree, you gain advantage on any Stealth checks. Additionally, if you use your "Eat Earth, Drink Water, Go to sleep" trait, then you automatically pass any Stealth checks you would be called to make - however, anybody who understands Entish or Druidic or has Truesight can roll a Perception check against a Stealth check of your own (with advantage) to become aware of your presence.
  • Eat Earth, Drink Water, Go to Sleep - As a Huorn, on a short rest you may spend your entire short rest digging your roots into the Earth; if you choose to do this, then all other party members taking short rest next to you gain an extra 1d4 Hit Points. You may do the same on a long rest, however, if you choose to do this then you are instead able to communicate with any Huorns or enrooted Ents in a 1km diameter of yourself.
  • Deep Sleeper - As a Huorn, whenever you take a long rest you roll 1d20. On a roll of 1-15, you complete your long rest in 4 hours, replete with being able to use any of your other traits/abilities. On a roll of 16-18, you complete a normal long rest. On a roll of 19-20, your long rest instead requires 12 hours to complete, during which time you may not use Eat Earth, Drink Water, Go to Sleep; however, this comes with a trade off, on your next short rest you shall gain advantage on all hit die rolls you make for that short rest.
  • Oaken Flesh - As a Huorn, you unfortunately have vulnerability to Fire. However, you have a natural AC of 16; this counts as Heavy armour so you may not add your Dexterity to it.
Description:

Usually standing betwixt some 8'7" to 11'5", these stockier living oaks resemble - to other trees - what a Dwarf would to a Human.

Bulky trunks are characteristic of most Huorns, whom grow to be quite strong under the watchful guardianship of the Ents.

Overgrown roots often run rampant over their bodies, acting almost like tendons.

Their foliage acting akin to hair, can be anywhere from a deep persistent Autumn-ochre, to a vibrant saturated dark green; the density of the foliage can range anywhere from a winter-bareness to an unruly tangled mess more akin to a hedge than a tree-top.

Glowing eyes peer from within jagged bark lids, which open only whenever is necessary, as most of their sense comes from seemingly unnatural sources.
