An Animated Uniform is a Humanoid Construct, technically a Cousin to the Common Golem.
It is created when a small Crystal, resonating with Atomic Resonance and entrapping a Wren, is placed within a set of Clothing*1 granting it mock life. Destroying or removing this Crystal will return it to being an inanimate set of clothes.
Created at the turn of the 17th Century, these Crystals were originally used to animate Mannequins, Suits of Armor & Clothing*2 in order to perform mock battles, entertain & train others. This practice quickly ended after several incidents where the Armor & Clothing worn caused severe injuries & even death, with accounts of the Animated Items acting as if possessing their own will.*3
In Modern times, they are commonly used a Security Features in Buildings. Being placed in Uniforms that are currently out of use.
Whilst briefly considered for use in Warfare, they were deemed too fragile, unintelligent, & difficult to deal with in large numbers.
*1 - Study has revealed that Individual Clothing Items are also subject to this, such as: Boots, Individual Socks, Pairs of Matching Socks, Pairs of Un-Matching Socks (if touching), Shirts, Hats, Knee Length Stockings (Researcher was quickly reprimanded for misconduct), Funny Hats, Pants, Shorts, Overcoats, and More.
*2 - It is unknown to what extent, what Materials can & cannot be animated. The main destinction seems to simply be that they are broadly considered 'Clothes', or something tangentially related.
*3 - The Crystals are typically be paid in Gem Polish and regularly shined by employers.
