Carrion Blade
Weapon
Rare
The carrion blade is a +1 glaive that will feed on the flesh of the victim it wounds through its sawblade teeth. It has the following additional properties:
- Bleeding Wounds. A creature that has been hit with the carrion blade & taken damage will take additional damage at the start of its next turn. At the start of its next turn, the creature takes necrotic damage equal to your attack bonus with the carrion blade. This effect ends early if the creature is healed prior to its next turn, such as with a Cure Wounds spell or successful usage of a Healer's Kit.
- Hunger for Flesh. If you roll a critical hit, the carrion blade will attempt to burrow into the target's flesh. On the targeted creature's next turn, if it wishes to break free of the carrion blade it must succeed on a Strength saving throw with a DC of 10 + your attack bonus. If the targeted creature fails to escape, it is Grappled, its movement is reduced to 0 ft, & the next attack made with the carrion blade is with advantage.
- Heavy. Creatures that are Small or Tiny have disadvantage on attack rolls with heavy weapons. A heavy weapon's size and bulk make it too large for a Small or Tiny creature to use effectively.
- Reach. This weapon adds 5 feet to your reach when you attack with it. This property also determines your reach for opportunity attacks with a reach weapon.
- Two-Handed. This weapon requires two hands to use. This property is relevant only when you attack with the weapon, not when you simply hold it.
- Weapon Mastery - Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
