Gathered from the fruit of the Maldrak Trees, it's ground up into a fine, dry powder, which can be added to food and drink, as well as to spice alcohols. It also has the wondrous property of being able to restore magical strength in whomever consumes it.
For each tablespoon of maldrak, there is 50 or so pinches of maldrak. For each pinch of maldrak added to food or drink, then once it is consumed, you recover 2 spellslots of lvl 1 (or 4 spell points), or 1 spellslot of lvl 2, and so on for each pinch. However, due to the toxic nature of spices as strong as maldrak, then if the number of pinches consumed per sitting surpasses your Constitution modifier, make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, adding 2 more to the DC for each pinch beyond. On a success, you consume the meal as normal (with perhaps some indigestion problems after). On a failure, you suffer the poisoned condition, and if you fail by a margin greater than 5, then you also suffer one level of exhaustion. If the number of pinches is more than twice your Constitution modifier, then you take 1d4 poison damage, adding an additional 1d4 to the roll for each pinch beyond.
