Shocking Sphere
5-level Evocation
You exhume an electrifying aura of static for the duration,
striking any creature in the area with sparks of lightning. As a
part of your action to cast the spell, and as a bonus action on
subsequent turns, you unleash a small bolt of lightning that
strikes a creature within 20 feet of you. The target creature must
succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d8 lightning
damage, taking half on a success.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot
of 6th level or higher, the damage of each bolt increases by 1d8
per spell slot level expended above 5th.
