Recorder’s Vision
Thanks to their peculiar nature, you have superior vision in the dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as though it were bright light, and in darkness as though it were dim light. You can still discern color in darkness. When you reach 5th level, you may focus your vision to gain additional insights. For one minute, you gain truesight out to a range of 15 feet, and may add your proficiency bonus to insight, perception, and investigation checks you make during this minute. You regain the use of this ability when you take a long rest.Unnatural Form
Witnesses prefer to wear heavy cloaks or other obscuring garments, as being exposed to the gaze of others causes them great pain. A Witness whose body is visible and is being actively watched appears as a distorted black form, and takes 1d8 necrotic damage every 6 seconds they remain exposed. This damage cannot kill a witness, only render them unconscious.Witness Insights
You gain proficiency in one of the following skills. Arcana, History, or Religion. In addition, you learn two cantrips of your choice. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Witness, and one other language of your choice. Witness is a soft language composed of complex musical tones hummed in quick succession. Its written component is a series of dashed lines of varying orientations and lengths that appears chaotic and illegible to the uninformed. This speech is difficult to translate and beyond the Witness people is known to only the most studious of scholars.
