Varanai
Hunter's Lore: The Varanai gain proficiency with two of the following skills of their choice: Animal Handling, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival. Natural Armor: The varanai have tough, scaly skin. When they aren’t wearing armor, their AC is 13 + their Dexterity modifier. A varanai can use it's natural armor to determine it's AC if the armor it wears would leave it with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while it uses it's natural armor. Cold Blooded: The varanai are coldblooded. When they receive cold damage their movement speed is halved and they cannot take a reaction until the beginning of their next turn. Calm Breath: A varanai can hold it's breath for up to 15 minutes. Natural swimmer: The varanai have a swimming speed of 30 ft.
Optional Traits:(Choose one)
Glider: The varanai has a membrane connected between it's arms and legs creating a kind of natural wing. The varanai can use it's reaction to deploy these wings and gain a fly speed of 30 ft, to utilize they must begin their turn at least 10 ft above the ground and they can only move horizontally or down, not up. Maneuverable: The varanai gains a climb speed of 30 ft and can climb completely inverted without the need to make any checks. Additionally, the varanai defies gravity and is able to run across the surface of water when it uses the dash ability. If it stops while on a watery surface the varanai falls in. Majestic Frills: The varanai has unique frills, flaps, hoods, or sails which can be used in a variety of ways. The varanai gains +1 to dexterity and a choice; proficiency in Intimidation checks and once per day it can attempt to frightened a creature using a Charisma save with a DC = 8 + Cha Modifier + proficiency, proficiency in Persuasion checks and know the friends cantrip, proficiency in Deception and advantage on all deception checks.Languages.
