Notes, Story Factors, and Misc Information

  • Size: One meter tall.

  • Base Cost: See your dealer! (Expect the base cost to be upwards of 9,000 credits for this top-of-the-line new model!)

  • Language: Unless an Astromech Voice Box is installed for additional cost, an astromech communicates in "droidspeak" which is founded in binary code. At one point during prototype development, designers considered integrating a Voice Box that would allow all R8s to speak Basic. While that idea did not make it into production models, R8s do come with a full-frequency comm system as standard equipment. They can communicate over long-range transmissions, accepting input via languages of typical owners or their associates over Holonet or secured frequencies.

This is an off-the-rack starting point for an R8 Astromech droid, as summarized on d6 Holocron by digging through the West End Games Scavenger's Guide to Droids sourcebook. Thanks, d6 Holocron!

Please Make a duplicate into (whatever your campaign is) at the bottom of this sheet (which is number 839992 in the statblock database), edit your copy to have your particular droid's name or designation, and make appropriate adjustments for your droid's current condition.

Unless your GM/Storyteller says otherwise in writing!, droids do not get as many Character Creation Dice as does a starting Player Character. Presume they are not Force-sensitive. Presume they have no Funds of their own. Droids ordinarily do not earn Character Points, Force Points, or Dark Side Points, relying instead on expenditures by their owners for upgrades to hardware or software as "character growth".
