The Halflings are Awakened

After watching her "children", the Humans grow and seemingly prosper, Caronalyn of the Humanar felt that something was missing. Looking across Cartyrion at the other Folk created by their Astralar cousins, she decided that while the Humans strove to achieve great things, they never seemed to stop and appreciate those things. And so she Awakened among the Humans a new people quite similar to the Humans, but with some subtle differences. These Folk were called Halflings by the Humans before them, and the name stuck. Literally half the size of their taller cousins, Halflings would be ambitious, but would know they would not reach the pinnacles desired by Humans. But they didn't care to, for they were also given a deep appreciation for comfort, and a desire to actually enjoy the fruits of their labors - even if it meant slower progress.
