Agilbert Oldbuck
Agilbert Oldbuck
The Halfling Agilbert Oldbuck was born and grew up in the village of Spudbarrow. Like many Pastoral Halflings, he has never been much for travel or adventure, preferring instead the quiet life of tending a small garden and spending time with friends and family. Fifteen years ago, he married Clotilde and their first child, Marmadoc, was born a year later.
It was then that the most disruptive thing Agilbert could imagine happened. His wife. Clotilde, announced they would be moving from Spudbarrow to a place two days journey up the road toward Feybridge Crossing - a place called the Bugbear's Head Inn. She had accepted a job offer from the proprietor, Theodric Pinnman, who often bought supplies for the Inn from Spudbarrow farmers and merchants. Clotilde was to be the Inn's new chief cook.
After arriving at the Inn, Agilbert quickly settled into a life much like the one he left in Spudbarrow. The vegetable and herb gardens were a bit larger, and hence a bit more work, but it was pleasant enough. Two more children joined Marmadoc: Caramella and Rotrude were born since the Oldbucks arrived at the Inn.
When Agilbert is not tending the Inn's vegetable gardens or the few flowerbeds he planted to help make the Inn a bit more homey, he will likely be found sitting in the Inn's common room. H enjoys discussing life with his Gnome friends Wyzbirrit and Maydillbass, who live across the road, or Tugreth Oakbraid, the Dwarven smith that also lives across the road. He enjoys his pipeweed he "imports" from Spudbarrow, and the ales that Maydillbass produces for the Inn. And while it seems he is unconcerned with the dealings of the greater world, asking the right questions makes it clear that he is a better informed about what's going on around him than he lets on.
