The Enlightened Church of the Humanar
During the Great Strife, the lands that would become the two Grand Duchies were cut off from the First Kingdom and its religious leaders - and while many parts of these lands were spared the worst of the war's destruction, the people of these lands decided that a bit more openness and tolerance were appropriate. In the lands of Elvenpass, church leaders established what they called the Enlightened Church of the Humanar. Though now officially deemed heretics by the True Church leaders, the politics of relationships between the First Kingdom and the Grand Duchy results in a tense tolerance of the "upstarts" by the True Church leadership. In practice, the holidays and rituals of the Enlightened Church are identical to those of the True Church - it is only in attitude toward outsiders that the faiths diverge.
