Tardigradeans

Tardigradeans are a resilient and wise race, perfectly suited to thrive in the most extreme conditions. age: Tardigradeans reach maturity by the age of 20 and can live up to 200 years, maintaining their vitality throughout.
alignment: Tardigradeans tend to be neutral, adapting to their surroundings and focusing on survival. They can be of any alignment, though they generally favor balance and resilience.
Size: Medium
speed: Walking Speed 25ft, Swimming Speed 25ft
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and one additional language of your choice.
race features:

Resilient: You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance to poison damage.

Tardigrade Toughness: You have proficiency in the Survival skill.

Extreme Survivability: You can survive in extreme conditions for short periods. You can hold your breath for up to 1 hour, you can go without food and water for up to a week, and you have advantage on saving throws against extreme temperatures.

Microscopic Fortitude: When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Aquatic Adaptation: You can breathe both air and water, and you have a swimming speed of 25 feet.

 

Subraces

Tardigrade people have adapted to different environments, leading to two distinct subraces: Aquatic and Terrestrial. Choose one of these subraces.  

Aquatic Tardigrade

  • Amphibious: You can breathe both air and water, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet.
  • Aquatic Camouflage: You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in water.
 

Terrestrial Tardigrade

  • Hardy Constitution: Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.
  • Burrower: You have a burrowing speed of 20 feet through non-solid earth and sand (but not solid rock).

Tardigrade people, known as Tardigradean, are a unique and enigmatic race, known for their incredible resilience and adaptability. These beings have an appearance that blends humanoid features with the distinctive traits of tardigrades, often appearing as sturdy, stocky individuals with a slight sheen to their skin, which ranges in color from earthy browns and greens to aquatic blues and teals. Their eyes are often large and reflective, giving them a somewhat otherworldly appearance.
