Spellcasting Focus
This scimitar can be used as a Spellcasting focus for casting spells.
Spell-Imbued Strike
When you cast a spell or cantrip while wielding the Chameleon Scimitar, it absorbs the energy of the spell.
For the next
1 minute, the scimitar deals an
additional 1d4 damage of the spell’s damage type (e.g., force, fire, cold, lightning, necrotic, or psychic) on each hit.
If you cast another spell or cantrip while the schimitar is already imbued, it overwrites the previous imbuement.
This effect does not apply to spells or cantrips that exclusively deal bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage.
Spell-Burst Strike
If you imbue the Chameleon Scimitar with magic
3 times within 1 minute, you can release the stored energy in a devastating burst.
As an action, unleash the stored energy, dealing
4d6 damage of the scimitar’s current imbued damage type in a
10-foot radius sphere centered on you.
Creatures within the area must make a
DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking full damage on a failure and half on a success.
After using this ability, the sword loses all active imbuements.
You can use this ability
twice per long rests.
