Timeworn. The Scourge has expertise on Intelligence (Arcana) and Intelligence (History) checks.
Breathless. The Scourge does not breath.
Legendary Resistance (3/day). If the Scourge fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Multiattack. The Scourge can use its Lost Light. It then makes three attacks: one with its maw and two with its tentacles.
Maw. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: (2d10+7) piercing damage.
Tentacles. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 60 ft., one target. Hit: (2d6+7) bludgeoning damage.
Lost Light. Each creature within the Scourge's line of sight must make a DC 25 Intelligence saving throw or take (8d8) void damage and become blinded until the start of their next turn. If a creature's saving throw is successful the creature takes half damage and does not become blinded.
Summon Shadowspawn (Recharge 5-6). The Scourge can cast the spell summon shadowspawn as a 5th-level spell.
The Scourge of Painter's Lake can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Scourge of Painter's Lake regains spent legendary actions at the start of their turn.
Locate. The Scourge makes a Wisdom (Perception) check. Each creature's location within 300 ft. of the Scourge is revealed to the Scourge.
Sap. The Scourge absorbs (2d12) hp from every creature within 30 ft. of it.
Mind Pull (Costs 2 Actions). The Scourge pulses its lost light. Each creature within line of sight is forced to move 15 ft. towards the Scourge, unless they succeed on a DC 25 Intelligence saving throw.
The Scourge of Painter's Lake will continuously repeat the same phrase in hopes of being communicated with in its native tongue. The phrase and its translation is as follows:
"Havoon, la'hayet restundra ohmya valune saydree."
"Please, a simple word is all I need to ease my lonely mind."
If a creature is able to speak even a single word in Timeworn to the Scourge, it will begin speaking in one of the creature's known languages. The Scourge will be extremely grateful and reward the creature with Lost Light (see item codex).
