Requires Attunement
This intricate tattoo, made using the hemolymph of various magical insects, grants the wearer an ability based on the type of insect from which the hemolymph was harvested.
Only one insect ability can be active at a time. To change the active insect ability you must finish a short or long rest.
Additional Insect abilities can be acquired by harvesting the hemolymph of insects found in the world.
A total of 4 insect abilities can exist at a time. To add anymore you must remove an ability from your acquired list.
Snow Flea Tattoo (Hypogastrura nivicola)
Appearance: Tiny, black flecks resembling snow fleas, scattered across your skin.
Ability: Leap Through Snow
- Effect: As a bonus action, you can jump up to 30 feet in any direction. This jump does not provoke opportunity attacks. Once used, this ability can't be used again until you finish a short or long rest.
Boreal Carabid Beetle Tattoo (Pterostichus brevicornis)
Appearance: A beetle with a robust, dark blue exoskeleton covered in a thin layer of frost.
Ability: Cold Pursuit
- Effect: You gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track creatures in snowy or icy environments. Additionally, you can ignore the effects of difficult terrain caused by snow and ice. This effect is always active while you are attuned to the tattoo.
Carpet Beetle Tattoo (Anthrenus verbasci)
Appearance: Faint concentric ovals form a spiraling path over the chest and arms, like the slow spread of rot through old cloth.
Ability: Feasting Rot
- Effect: As an action, you can touch a nonmagical organic material (such as leather, fabric, or bone) that isn’t being worn or carried and cause it to rapidly decay and fall apart over the course of 10 minutes. This affects up to a 5-foot cube of material. Any surrounding material that is unaffected is considered unaffected by the decay and functions as it was. Usable a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
The tattoo shifts and shimmers, resembling the insect it draws power from.
Cost: Priceless
