The rootlash spear is crafted from a single length of hardened rootwood, its shaft reinforced with layers of cured vine fibers. The spearhead is made from polished stone, shaped to a sharp point and secured with sap-resin binding. Terralyn guardians favor this weapon for its balance and responsiveness; the living root-fibers give the wielder a natural grip, making it exceptionally difficult to disarm. Though simple in appearance, the rootlash spear is a symbol of Terralyn clans. Every adult receives theirs at the end of their coming-of-age rite, the root fibers dyed with pigments unique to their clan.
The shaft of a rootlash spear is wrapped in tightly cured root-fibers that naturally cling to the wielder’s hands. A wielder gains a +2 circumstance bonus to CMD against disarm attempts made to remove a rootlash spear from their grasp.
