Kaelen the Refracted

A tragic figure encased in pulsing, orange crystal. He swings a massive hammer whose head reflects the abyss of space and time.

Motives and Tactics: Fractured Reality: Whenever a player makes a physical attack Kaelen immediately conjures a mirror image. The attack strikes and shatters this image, triggering "Shatter the Moment", and Kaelen takes no damage. Each time this ability is used reduce the Armor Score of Kaelen the Refracted by 1. When the Armor Score is 0 this ability no longer triggers.

The Weight of Regret: Whenever Kaelen the Refracted makes a melee attack with his hammer the target makes an instinct check (DC 13). On a failure the target is crystalized and receives 1 stress. They are "restrained" until they spend 1 hope, or are assisted by another player.

Shatter the Moment: When Kaelen the Refracted's mirror image shatters he may spend 1 fear for it to explode into deadly shards of glass dealing 1d6 damage to all targets in close range.

HP 6: Kaelen the Refracted's Hammer shatters and he gains the ability dissonant whispers which deal 1 stress. Player who dealt the most recent damage will receive a vision of Kaelen's family's murder and the secret of the relic's curse.
