Special Maneuvers
Aimed Shot - Before moving on your turn, add double your Proficiency Bonus to the attack roll for the first attack you make with this weapon.
Crippling Shot - You aim for the legs or other appendages of your target without your Proficiency Bonus. If your attack is successful, the target's movement is hindered and can only move half its normal movement speed until the start of your next turn.
Pinning Shot - Using a Bonus Action, increase your next attack's AP rating to AP VI and add the Pinning effect without the HP requirements, but to accelerate to the desired speeds, it fires only one projectile, dealing 1d12 + 12 damage. This doubles the range of the pinning distance to 60 feet and the projectile's effective range goes up to 180 feet and 450 feet for long range. This will alert targets within 90 feet because of the supersonic crack that the bolt makes.
Special Properties
Accurate - Within the effective range, you have a +4 bonus to hit with your attack rolls.
Armor Piercing V
Archery Weapon - Each attack with this weapon uses up two arrows or bolts unless otherwise specified. Long range attacks made with this weapon are one die size smaller, only has a +10 bonus on the damage roll, and is one AP rating lower. Does half the rolled damage to vehicles.
Hunting Tool - Can be used to give Advantage on Survival checks when hunting for food.
Loading - Crossbows can be reloaded as a Bonus Action after firing.
Pinning - If more than half the target's remaining HP damage is dealt in a single attack, the target is launched in a straight line away from you up to 30 feet away and takes falling damage for every 10 feet the target was pushed back if it gets pinned to a surface. The creature must be medium or smaller for this effect to work. If no vertical surface is available, the target is only pushed up to 30 feet in a straight line away from you. If pinned to a surface, the target will be Restrained until the start of your next turn.
Stealthy - Firing this weapon does not alert enemies that are outside of initiative or when you attack while hidden. After attacking, roll a Stealth check versus the target's Passive Perception.
Weight: 15
Handling: 2-handed
A near-silent, devastating armor-piercing weapon that looks more like an arrangement of blocks than a crossbow with recognizable arms. The mechanism by which it accelerates has counterweights that operate seemingly against each other, and instead of using a string, the bolts are catapulted via the magnetically propelled sled closer to the interior. The sled itself carries two bolts at once. It is also substantially heavier than a normal crossbow, despite weight-saving materials used during manufacturing. The schematic for the weapon is kept in the Ashigaru Clean Labs near where the Hanjin-Utari border once was.
