Legendary Trial of the Master Thief

Universal Unlock:
The key can unlock any physical lock or mechanism, mundane or magical. If the lock is magical, the DC to unlock it is 10 + the spell level used to create the lock.  
Thief’s Instinct:
While holding the key, you gain proficiency in Sleight of Hand and Thieves’ Tools. If you are already proficient, your proficiency bonus is doubled for these checks.  
Silent Entry:
While using the key to unlock a door, chest, or other barrier, you can suppress any sound made during the action, ensuring complete silence.  

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When attuned, the Key of Thieves transcends its mundane function, granting dominion over more than just locks.  
Unlock the Unseen:
The key can now unlock barriers of the mind. As an action, you can target one creature within 30 feet. The creature must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or have its deepest secrets unlocked and revealed to you. Additionally, the creature has disadvantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws for 1 minute.
Break the Chains:
As an action, you can touch a creature with the key to break magical or divine bindings, such as curses, enchantments, or geases. The target must make a DC 20 Charisma saving throw; on a failed save, the binding is undone.
Unlock the Soul:
Once per long rest, you can use the key to sever the connection between a creature’s body and soul. As an action, target one creature within 60 feet. The creature must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take 8d10 necrotic damage as its life force is momentarily severed. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage. Creatures reduced to 0 hit points by this ability cannot be revived except by divine intervention.

Special Ability: Gateway of Shadows

Once per long rest, you can use the Key of Thieves to unlock a gateway to the Realm of Inagi, allowing you and up to 10 willing creatures to pass through it. The gateway remains open for 10 minutes, granting access to the Realm or another location within the same plane. While traveling through the gateway:  
  • You are undetectable by magical means.
  • Hostile creatures cannot enter the gateway unless they succeed on a DC 24 Wisdom saving throw.
