Leonin

The Leonin are a proud Beastfolk race renowned throughout Eldrathis as master blacksmiths, disciplined soldiers, and honorable warriors. For centuries, their forges produced some of the finest weapons and armor in the known world, and Leonin officers earned distinction serving in the armies of many kingdoms. Their society values strength, discipline, craftsmanship, and loyalty above all else, with family clans forming the foundation of their culture.   Despite their many accomplishments, the Leonin continue to live beneath the shadow of the War of the Broken Claw. During the final years of the Age of Reclamation, the warlord High Claw Varok Ashmane united several Leonin clans in an attempt to exterminate or subjugate the other Beastfolk races. Although many Leonin fought against Varok and helped bring an end to the war, the atrocities committed in his name left a stain on their people that has endured for decades. Today, most Leonin strive to prove that they are defined not by one tyrant's hatred, but by the honor and integrity that have characterized the vast majority of their history.
