Description
Crossbows are common among city guards, mercenary bands and among untrained ranged troops. Using a crossbow effectively takes a lot less training than a bow, so it's become a common weapon in armies to replace bows, as archers are very expensive. The crossbow comes in a light and heavy make and it's not really the weight that is the difference, but the draw weight. The light crossbow can be reloaded by hand using a lever, while the heavy crossbow has to be reloaded with a belt hook. The hook is put around the string and then you place your foot in the hoop at the front of the crossbow and straighten your legs, and use your legs to draw the string back. Crossbows are very expensive.
